We’ve all been on a course, a training session, or even a conference call that seemed to last forever. Hence, it is important to set the duration of a course beforehand. Again, if we do not give trainees a targeted time to complete a certain training, they will take their own time to finish a session. Therefore, an LMS should come with the feature of deciding and assigning course duration beforehand.

The duration of eLearning courses depends on various factors –How is the information logically organized? Are there any images to go along with each topic? Are there embedded videos? What about gamified elements? What’s the content length? Considering all of the above factors, content developers decide on the course duration. And with the help of PlayAblo, they can preset the course length before assigning a course to trainees. Here is how:

How does PlayAblo help in setting course durations?

In PlayAblo, there are three ways to assign course durations:

While creating batches:

After you click on ‘Create Batch’ to create a new training batch, you will see the below screen. Here, you can select ‘Start date’ and ‘End date’ to set the course duration.

Auto subscription to courses

Auto-subscription allows content creators to automatically assign courses in bulk. It is also defined as an automatic mass subscription of courses to a larger audience.

Self subscription to courses

This feature enables users to select courses based on their interests. They can go to the ‘Explore courses’ tab, pick courses and self subscribe.

In both self and auto, when courses are created, the content developer can set the default duration accordingly. Check out the image below:
